A Sketch a Day

Hamburg DE
ABOUT MEA World Away from HomeTwo and a half years ago our family of five moved to Hamburg from Victoria, Australia. We were planning many adventures, and had pictured ourselves discovering all of the wonders that Europe has to offer. After managing just enough travel to whet our appetites, we found ourselves in the grip of a global pandemic. Nearly twelve months later, with no end in sight for the foreseeable future, we are counting ourselves lucky that we can afford hand sanitiser, food and a roof over our heads. The biggest task facing us all now - is keeping sane.
I have time, so I'm using it to get busy. |

PORTFOLIORecent DevelopmentsI have discovered pastel pencils.
Yes, I knew that pastels existed, but until recently I have never used pastel pencils. After some trial and error I found that I was quite taken with what was achievable. Of course everything I'm drawing is self-referential, so through journal posts I'll attempt to shed some light on some of the drivers behind the sketches on this website. |
We come from a sleepy rural community on the outskirts of Melbourne, so the move to the Hanseatic City of Hamburg has been a wonderful and exciting experience for us all. Living within a different culture certainly has it's moments! After the challenges and day-to-day stresses are dealt with, the quality of the beers ensure all is forgiven. Most of the events and frustrations that lead to bouts of creative swearing and cursing get forgotten.
